研究领域:
生物进化是在自然选择的作用下,适应性的遗传变异延续下来的过程。各种适应性表型的形成是进化的表现形式。就病毒而言,其生物多样性、毒力、致病性、宿主范围的改变和适应等现象都是进化的结果。也是病毒变异的源头和适应宿主环境的基础。因此,全面了解病毒遗传变异的分子机制对控制病毒性疾病具有重要的意义。基因突变、基因重配(Reassortment)和基因重组(Recombination)是病毒进化的主要遗传机制。通过重组,某些病毒能快速改变其生物性状,如跨种感染,毒力变化,或者籍此逃避宿主免疫选择,并导致疫苗免疫接种失败等,因此深入研究病毒间重组对于病毒性疾病的预防和控制具有非常重要的意义。然而,对RNA病毒,特别是负链和双链RNA病毒的研究中,这种遗传抑制对病毒的进化的影响常常被忽略。甚至认为这类病毒间不发生重组。我们一直致力于证明RNA病毒,特别是负链病毒是否存在同源重组遗传机制的研究,以确定同源重组在RNA病毒进化过程中的地位,以及通过反向遗传技术研制动物病毒疫苗。
